Sector – Education
St Joseph’s is a school for ages 11-18 years in the Archdiocese of Cardiff. It is becoming increasingly popular for schools and other educational organisations to utilise modular buildings to provide more teaching space for their students. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring students could socially distance. All the works were planned in during the summer break. This allowed us to work on site with minimum disruption to the school and gave the school the possibility of having the extended teaching space ready for the new school term.
In total three new modular classrooms were required, that were designed to be installed within the schools existing playground and games area. The three modular units were purchased by the school and formed into classroom units, with double door access.
Being a non-domestic property, adhering to the latest regulations is of the utmost importance. Working in partnership with the school, we were able to create a solution that was not only fit for purpose, but fully compliant.
1100mm High Rails
Installed at specified position on the platform sections, these rails provide additional safety and assurance.
Hazard Warning Surfaces
Hazard warning surfaces were incorporated in certain areas to assist users on approach.
This access solution was specified to be fully balustraded.
All level changes required 55mm highlighted edges.
All modular ramp components for the 3 modular classrooms were installed during 2 visits, over 3 working days.
“Delighted with the works and all-round service. The pre-installation service and communication was excellent, the installers were incredibly polite, hardworking, and kept the site really tidy. The quality and finish are superb, and the school is super pleased with the ramps. It was great to have the new classrooms up and running ready for the new term”. – Business Manager, St Joseph’s School.
All works were completed within the required timescales. We were pleased to be able to offer our products and services to the team at St Joseph’s and it was a pleasure to work with them on this project and assist them in their plans to expand the school’s footprint.
