The Project

Fowler’s Yard is situated on the bank of the River Wear in the historic and retail heart of Durham City centre. The yard consists of creative workspaces, offering the public the opportunity to meet with artists and craftspeople to observe different creative processes.

Client brief

The building that required a step unit is situated within a conservation area. The site is not listed, but is within the Durham City conservation area and in the setting of the World Heritage Site. The existing staircase had to be removed and replaced with one our modular step unit. Although, all elements needed to be black.

Project Summary

A very successful installation for Easiaccess. All our equipment can be requested to be any RAL colour you require, however the majority of customers go with our standard black or green. But usually this is only for the main elements of the ramp or step unit. This step unit is unique, with all elements coloured black, including all connectors, fixings, legs and feet. The existing step unit was removed, and the Easiaccess modular step unit installed with ease, contrasting well within its environment.
