The Project
The customer had to negotiate stepped access to their property and a gradient of the existing footpath that proved difficult to manage. A significantly reduced gradient was created using our metal modular ramp, accompanied with extended handrail support.
Application: Residential
Location: Tweedmouth, Berwick
System: Metal Modular Ramp
Requirements
The customer had to negotiate stepped access to their property and a gradient of the existing footpath that proved difficult to manage. We were asked to survey the property to see whether access could be improved.
Features
- Creating a new opening in the boundary fence to minimise the distance
- Huge reduction in gradient to assist the customer
- New gate built to match the existing fence
End Result
Our surveyor was able to provide a solution that not only significantly lessened the gradient but also the distance travelled to move from the door of the property to the boundary, by creating a new entrance and landing area.
Easirail was used to extend the handrail support provided beyond the ramp. A new paved area underneath the ramp was specified to be as future proof as possible – if the ramp is ever removed, the pathway will remain.
