Easiaccess Volunteers Help Revitalise Fencing in Leeds

A team from Easiaccess recently swapped their usual day-to-day duties for paintbrushes, rollers and power tools as part of a volunteering project in Leeds.

Working alongside Leeds City Council, our team helped restore the fence railings at Leeds Irish Health & Homes, giving the outdoor area a much-needed refresh and helping the fencing look as good as new.

Preparing the Fences for a Fresh Start

Before any painting could begin, the team needed to make sure the railings were properly prepared. Armed with brushes, rollers, wire drill attachments and plenty of paint, everyone got to work cleaning down the fences and removing areas of rust and loose material.

Preparing the surface thoroughly was an important part of the process, helping the new paint adhere properly and providing a smoother, longer-lasting finish.

Once the preparation was complete, the team began painting the railings, working together to cover each section and transform the appearance of the fencing.

By the end of the project, the previously weathered railings had been given a fresh new look, helping to create a cleaner and more welcoming environment for those who use and visit Leeds Irish Health & Homes.

A Great Team Effort

The volunteering day provided an opportunity for our team to work together away from their usual roles while contributing to a worthwhile community project.

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, whether they were cleaning away rust, preparing the surfaces or applying the fresh coats of paint. The project required plenty of teamwork and effort, but the finished result made it all worthwhile.

The Services Manager at Leeds Irish Health & Homes shared their appreciation following the work, saying they were:

“Very grateful for all the work carried out.”

They also added:

“What a great company you have been to work with.”

Receiving such positive feedback was greatly appreciated by everyone involved, and we were delighted that our team could make a meaningful difference.

Supporting Communities in Different Ways

At Easiaccess, supporting good causes is about more than simply raising money. While fundraising remains an important part of our charitable work, we also recognise the value of giving our time, practical skills and energy to support councils, organisations and communities.

Volunteering projects such as this allow our team to provide hands-on assistance and complete work that can have a visible and lasting impact.

Whether we are helping to improve a community space, supporting a local organisation or taking part in one of our fundraising challenges, we are always proud to contribute wherever we can.

We would like to thank Leeds City Council and Leeds Irish Health & Homes for giving us the opportunity to get involved, as well as every member of the Easiaccess team who volunteered their time and helped bring the fencing back to life.
