What is the Waffle Surface?
The new waffle surface option from Easiaccess is a Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Open Mini-Mesh panel system, designed for use across ramps, steps, and platforms. Known for its strength and durability, this surface is engineered specifically for pedestrian access in a wide range of environments including domestic, commercial, and industrial applications.
The mini-mesh structure features a smaller aperture design compared to standard open mesh GRP grating, creating a more controlled walking surface while still allowing effective drainage and ventilation. This makes it particularly suitable for external access installations where weather exposure and debris management are key considerations.
Manufactured using GRP with the addition of quartz granules, the waffle surface delivers enhanced slip resistance while maintaining a lightweight yet robust structure. It is fully integrated into the modular system, ensuring consistent performance across all access components.

Easiaccess Bespoke Clip
To ensure that the surface is secure, we have designed and developed our own Waffle clip, which is European patented (Patent Number #4628674).
To assemble the clip all you need to do is click together the upper and lower parts of the clip in between the waffle, place the coach bolt and socket nut through the assembly, then it can be easily manoeuvred along with the platform into position. Then to make the install sturdy and safe, all you have to do is turn the clip, and tighten it so that it latches onto the frame underneath.
Should you need to access underneath the ramp/platform/step after installation, all you would have to do is untighten the clip, then you can just lift up the waffle surface, giving you access underneath.
